At St Piran Dental Practice we are committed to providing high quality private treatment for all the family.

We are able to provide General Dental Practitioners with support on a referral basis for a range of dental treatments. To access the referral forms please click on the referral proforma link on the How to Refer page.

On completion of treatment your patients are returned to you for continuation of their care.

Sedation - For anxious patients whatever the procedure. We are very happy to discuss particular needs/concerns for dental treatment under IV sedation with both patients and referring practitioners. This is our most common referral request and patients are often seen within 1 to 2 weeks.

Oral Surgery – A full range of treatments are available from our visiting specialist, from the complex surgical removal of teeth to grafting of tissues prior to implant placement.

Implantology – With the St Piran Dental Implant Prescription Service* we can provide you with support and guidance for the treatment of your patients with implants, either by yourself or us as you choose. We are a Straumann approved practice and in conjunction with Straumann can provide you with all the support, guidance and materials for the placement of dental implants for your patients. We encourage you to take an active role in the implant management of your patients and are happy to do one or all of the following under your prescription:

Level 1 - Patient Selection
We are happy to advise should you be unsure about whether a patient is a good candidate for successful implant placement with regards to their oral, medical and/or social health.

Level 2 - Sinus Lifts / Bone Grafts / Soft Tissue Augmentation
This service is aimed at those practitioners who are already placing implants and require specialist intervention for the augmentation of the implant site due to a lack of bone. With our visiting oral surgery specialist we are able to provide comprehensive support including procedures such as sinus lifts, bone grafts and bone augmentation.

Level 3 - Implant Site Assessment
With this unique service we will assess your patient and return them to you for dental implant placement with all relevant supporting details. This includes a step by step guide to suggested implant selection, position and restoration, all relevant radiographs/imaging, study models, wax ups and stents. This is aimed at providing you with the groundwork for surgical placement and restoration of implants in your own patients.

Level 4 - Implant Placement
Should you wish us to place the implant as well, with this service we will prepare the implant site, place the implant and check osseointegration prior to returning the patient to you for simple impression and restoration of the implants.

Level 5 - Implant Placement and Restoration
If you wish us to take on the full care of your patient for surgical placement, relevant bone augmentation and prosthetic restoration, then this level is appropriate. Once your patient’s care is completed they are returned to you for continual care along with detailed information on the implant type used and aftercare for your convenience.
